I had a wonderful time at my first public event last Saturday.  I met some fabulous local authors and guests. We chatted for ages about books and writing , ate lots of delicious cake and drank far too much black coffee! I even sold some books!

Here are my table companions: Ruth Downie – Author of Vita Brevis: A crime novel of the Roman Empire, and Tony Dixon –  Author of Bristol Channel Gypsies: An insight into life aboard an RNLI lifeboat based at Clovelly, North Devon.

I was very lucky to have their company for the afternoon and learnt a lot from their writing experiences. Tony and I even discussed organising a mini-book-tour of North Devon in the coming months, so plenty still to look forward to.

Thanks to Walter Henry’s Bookshop for hosting the event and to Susie’s Tea Rooms in Appledore for the lovely surroundings and incredibly tempting treats.
